More than 300 Sawgrass Bay Elementary families came out on Nov. 12 to experience Heritage Night. Staff and families represented more than 17 countries from around the world. Families were able to experience the flavors that make each country unique, see traditional clothing worn, hear a variety of traditional music and peruse artifacts from the diverse cultures that were represented.
The highlight of the evening featured the Sawgrass Bay Chorus, led by new music teacher Mrs. Elisabeth Vincze. Approximately 50 students elegantly dressed in black and white attire took the stage and filled the room with sounds from around the world. Principal Heather Gelb said, “The chorus did a phenomenal job performing for Heritage Night, we are so excited to see their future performances.”
