Students in Leesburg High School’s Health Science Program will travel to two of Lake Medical Imaging’s facilities for job shadowing this month.
In addition to the Certified Nursing Assistant program, Leesburg High also has a course of study for aspiring Certified Medical Administrative Assistance. Under the guidance of instructor Cheryl Augustine, RN, Health Science Program coordinator for the school, and Marcella Volkmar, Technical Director for Lake Medial Imaging’s centers in The Villages, the students will learn the importance of radiology for diagnosing potential disease as well as for health care screening and treatment planning. Over the course of five visits to two of the imaging facilities, the student will get an understanding of what goes into the business of patient care and diagnostic services.
Lake Medical Imaging, in partnership with Central Florida Health Alliance, is a full-service diagnostic imaging practice encompassing 22 board certified radiologists and five state-of the art imaging centers in Central Florida.
